Jesus answered him, Whither I get, thousand canst not follow me now; but chiliad shalt follow me afterwards. 37Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. 38Jesus answered him, Wilt m lay downward thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The erect shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

13:34 A new commandment - Not new in itself; but new in the school of Christ: for he had never before taught it them expressly. Likewise new, equally to the degree of it, as I accept loved you.
xiii:36 Peter saith, Lord, whither goest thou? - St. Peter seems to have thought, that Christ, existence rejected by the Jews, would get to some other part of the earth to cock his throne, where he might reign without disturbance, according to the gross notions he had of Christ's kingdom.
